The first city-wide C-V2X deployment in Wuxi China by China Mobile, TMRI, Huawei and other 24 industrial partners including CAICT, Audi China, FAW group, SAIC group and many car makers, application providers is a city-level commercial site. The site spans 240 intersections and covers most of the area of the city (around 170 km²) and over 10K vehicles with C-V2X devices (both original and after-market, and many commercial cars are running under the network, include ambulance, logistics, taxi, Didi and government cars. Huawei is the leading E2E C-V2X solution provider in this project.
“Cellular vehicle to everything (C-V2X) communication will ease congestion, improve traffic flow and make roads safer for all to use. A key barrier for emerging technology in automotive is regulation and time needed for testing and evaluation. While some deliberate over V2X technology, the success and scalability of this entry has led to wider deployment approval.”
