All attendees can use BREEZ to speed up their identity checks in the registration system via Automatic ID validation as well as taking advantage of a quicker and smoother access control functionality during Event days via BREEZ Venue Access.

You can enrol in BREEZ during the event registration process or any time after you have registered for the event. Follow these simple steps:

1. Grant your explicit consent to use BREEZ.

2. Upon consenting, you will be directed to have your photo taken via ScanVis Facial Recognition System for the creation of your biometric profile.

3. The uploaded BREEZ photo will pass through a quality verification (QV) check to ensure that it is suitable for facial recognition. If the defined parameters are met, your biometric profile will be created. If they are not, you will be asked to complete the previous step again.

4. Your BREEZ photo will then be compared to your passport / EU national ID card photo using your biometric profile and a match score produced. If the score is above the system threshold, then your identity will be confirmed (if not, your photos will be checked and matched by a human). This is the Automatic ID Validation.

5. Once your registration has been completed (paid / code provided) you will be enrolled into BREEZ and will benefit from BREEZ Venue Access, utilizing the BREEZ lanes at the venue for a touch-free experience.

Your consent to participate in BREEZ remains valid for as long as you maintain your MWC account or until you opt-out of BREEZ.

You can opt out of BREEZ by withdrawing your consent at any time by accessing your registration account via https://register.mwcbarcelona.com/login and clicking on the Unenrol in BREEZ button, or by contacting [email protected]

If you withdraw your consent prior to or during the Event, you will need to use your Digital Badge (available in the My MWC event app) and scan in every time you enter the Event. As discussed above, in addition to providing BREEZ Venue Access, BREEZ provides Automatic ID Validation during the registration process by comparing your passport / EU national ID image to your BREEZ profile to verify that the document being entered matches the individual registrant. Please note that the Automatic ID Validation utilizes biometric data and occurs instantaneously during the BREEZ registration process. The biometric token created for the image comparison process will be deleted within 28 days after the conclusion of the Event. Therefore, while you can withdraw your consent from BREEZ at any time, there is no opportunity to withdraw consent from the Automatic ID Validation once that step of the registration process is complete.

Please note that although your consent remains valid for as long as you maintain your MWC account, your biometric data is only kept for up to 28 days after the Event. This is an important step to protect your personal information. Only when you register to a subsequent Event using your MWC account will the biometric token will be re-generated.

After you consent to BREEZ and upload a photo, our facial recognition software analyses facial features by taking measurements of data points that make up the face. These data points include the distance between your eyes and the distance from forehead to chin, etc. The technology processes a number of data points to create a real-time map of your face. This is converted into a secure anonymous data pattern using a complex algorithm to create your biometric token.

Your biometric token will be stored and retained in the European Union for the duration of the Event and securely destroyed within 28 days of the final day of the Event. GSMA is committed to protecting your personal data. We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure that your data is secured at all times. Each biometric token is encrypted and stored in a database separate from the raw data used in its creation.

During the registration process, BREEZ is used to compare the image from your passport/EU national ID card to your BREEZ profile to complete the automatic ID validation. At the Event, BREEZ will be used for the purposes of identification of enrolled attendees to provide BREEZ Venue Access. When you enter the BREEZ lane and approach a camera you will be recognised and granted access to the Event. This is done by matching the real-time image of your face with the biometric token created during the registration process.

If you choose to participate in BREEZ, your biometric data will be disclosed to ScanVis Ltd., which is the supplier who carries out the facial recognition activities for the Event. ScanVis Ltd is based in Hong Kong and this means that your biometric data will be accessed from a location in Hong Kong.

All attendees are required to have their Digital Access Pass available to enter the external perimeter of the venue. The Digital Access Pass will also be the only way to access conference or partner sessions.

Everyone in Spain is legally required to carry a valid ID or passport at all times. Therefore, attendees should keep such identification documents with them during the Event.

Enrolment in BREEZ is completely voluntary.

If you do not consent to the use of BREEZ during the registration process, you have the alternative option of manual ID validation at registration and the use of a Digital Badge (available in the My MWC event app) to access the venue. Your ability to attend the Event is not affected by a refusal / withdrawal of consent.
