Larry Madowo and Remel London confirmed to host the 2019 GLOMO Awards!
Larry Madowo is the BBC Africa Business Editor, Global Contributing Columnist for the Washington Post and a digital native. He was named among the 100 Most Influential Africans in 2018 by New African magazine. He has reported from more than 40 countries and interviewed some of the world’s most prominent business, political and cultural leaders.
He is an international speaker and moderator who has been on such diverse stages as the World Economic Forum, Mobile World Congress, Slush Finland, Global Digital Content Market and numerous others. Remel London is an award winning TV & Radio presenter and online video blogger. Since graduating with a BA Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Leeds in 2010, Remel has landed her own weekend show CAPITAL XTRA as well as the lead presenter slot on SKY 1’s What’s Up TV. Remel has previously presented Link Up TV, ILUVLIVE, Channel AKA and regular slots on BBC Radio 1Xtra.
As a blogger, Remel and has gained over 13,000 followers on twitter, as well as over 3 million views combined across several YouTube channels. Her extensive knowledge of music and entertainment meant she was invited to join the MOBO Awards panel in 2013-2015 and went on to present the MOBO’s official Red Carpet in 2016.
A confident and experienced corporate host, Remel has hosted numerous events including, The MOBO awards nominations launch, the Music For Youth Proms at the Royal Albert Hall and the 2018 Rocking Ur Teens Girls Conference. In 2012 Remel’s unique voice was picked up by London radio station Choice FM, as their official female voice over artist and later moved over to BBC Radio 1xtra as a new addition to their presenting and voice over team. Remel has voiced advertisements for companies such as Netflix, Capital FM and across the BBC network and she often works as a freelance voice over artist.
Remel London is very passionate about her local community and is the founder of the Showcase and Networking event The RateMePlz Live Show created to support emerging talent across the country. In 2015 Remel London was chosen to be an official ambassador of the Rocking Ur Teens National Youth Organisation and aspires to influence young women in the UK.
