Victor Manuel Martínez Vanegas, General Coordinator of International Affairs, IFT, Mexico, has a law degree and has worked in telecommunications for more than 20 years.
Since he joined de Federal Telecommunications Institute in 2014, he has been responsible for promoting the IFT's mandates and interests in the definition of the international policy and regulation on telecommunications, broadcasting, and economic competition in organizations, forums, and negotiations that are binding on the Mexican State.
?He was an official of the Ministry of Communications and Transportation for more than six years, a period during which he served as head of the Mexican delegation in several World Assemblies and Conferences of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), InterAmerican Telecommunications Commission (CITEL) and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
He is part of the National Committee for the attention of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and he has participated, as technical support, in various Free Trade Agreement negotiations in disciplines such as telecommunications, electronic commerce, technical obstacles to trade and competition policy.
He is currently the Chairman of the Preparatory Working Group for World Radiocommunication Conferences of the Permanent Consultative Committee II: Radiocommunications of the CITEL; the Vice-Chair of the Telecommunication Standardization Advisory Group, and the Vice-Chair of the Radiocommunication Advisory Group of the ITU.?
