Rémy Trichard is the VP of Monetization at KaiOS Technologies, the company behind an ecosystem of affordable digital products and services empowering people around the world through technology. The flagship product, KaiOS, is the leading mobile operating system for smart feature phones. In just four years' time, over 150 million devices are shipped in over 157 countries.
Based on HTML5 and other open web technologies, KaiOS is lightweight on hardware resources and is able to run on devices with just 256 MB of memory. While keeping the cost low with minimal requirement, devices running on KaiOS offer smartphone-like capabilities with access to popular apps like Google Assistant, WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook, and Google Maps.
Rémy brings over 12 years of experience in innovation, entrepreneurship and product management to the company. He is currently living in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he spent over a decade in Mainland China where he took part in the growth of Chinese Internet companies such as Renren (the “Chinese Facebook”) and Cheetah Mobile. He (co-)founded several startups, the last one being acquired by Bytedance (owner of TikTok).
As VP of Monetization at KaiOS, Remy’s responsibilities include managing teams across product, data, and adtech to devise monetization strategies to grow the business.
Rémy is an advisory member of the GSMA Inclusive Tech Lab and was co-founder and board member of La French Tech Beijing. He holds a Masters in Computer Science from Oxford Brookes University and is fluent in French, English and Mandarin.
