Speaker Bio

Nick Ruczaj is VP of Global Content & Business Development at VIDAA, the TV Operating System business unit of the world’s 2nd largest TV manufacturer, Hisense.

Nick has worked in the digital video and IPTV space for more than twenty years, holding leadership roles at VIDAA, Amdocs Media, Vubiquity, Move Networks, Inuk and 3Com/US Robotics. He also founded a triple-play platform in the UK called Freewire, which provided broadband, phone and IPTV services to students living in university halls of residence. He grew this business to a footprint of over 160,000 rooms before selling the company to Inuk Networks (in turn acquired by Move Networks, and then EchoStar). This brought Nick into the telco and platform TV space, helping to develop video and content strategies for international operators including Virgin Media, Cable & Wireless, Al Jazeera, Digiturk, du, Ooredoo, Turkcell and Vodacom.

Nick has a BA (Hons) degree in Political Philosophy from the University of York.
