Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
Founder, in 2006, and General Director of isardSAT group. Based in Catalonia and the UK, isardSAT is a research SME in the field of Earth observation through the processing of satellite sensors data.
Mònica is a Senior Engineer and Scientist with more than twenty-five years of experience in all the aspects of Altimetry (scientifically, technically and managerial). From 1995 to 2004 she worked at the European Space Agency (ESA) at its technical centre, ESTEC , in Noordwijk (The Netherlands), where she was responsible for the altimeter radar system aboard the European satellite EnviSat. She was a PhD candidate from 1997 at the Delft University of Technology (TUDelft), in The Netherlands.
Mònica and isardSAT have received several awards, such as the recent “Salvà i Campillo” Award for Entrepreneurship awarded by the Catalan Association of Telecommunications Engineers and the Official College of Computer Engineering of Catalonia in 2018, or the “Innovative Company in Conciliation and Time” awarded by Barcelona City Council in 2015. She is also the author of numerous scientific articles and Altimetry scientific books chapters.
Since March 2021, she is the president of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce (first vice-president sine June 2019), and vice-president of the General Council of Chambers of Commerce of Catalonia. She is also the President of the Barcelona Chamber, Space and Aeronautic commission since June 2019.
