"Marçal Rossinyol received his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Sciences from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain, in 2004, 2006, and 2009 respectively. He then worked as an associate researcher within the Intelligent Reading Systems research group in the Computer Vision Centre, Spain. In 2012 and 2014 he worked in the French company Itesoft and in the Laboratoire Informatique, Image et Intéraction in the Université de La Rochelle, France respectively with two Marie Curie research fellowships.
His main research interests include Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Data Science, specifically applied to Reading Systems.
Within the Computer Vision Centre he participated in over 20 competitive research projects, both national level and from the European Commision, and over 15 technological transfer projects, being the PI of several of them. He has co-authored over 80 publications in refereed journals, book chapters and international conferences and with 1850+ citations, has an H-index of 24. He has served as program committee member in a dozen of international conferences and has been the organizer of several international workshops, competitions and tutorials. He has participated in several entrepreneurship programs within the fields of digital humanities and automatic reading systems.
He has been a Teaching Assistant and an Adjunct Lecturer at the Computer Science Department of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona from 2005. He has received the accreditations for Lecturer and Tenured Assistant from AQU in 2010 and 2017 respectively and the Maître de Confèrence accreditation from the Education Ministry from France.
In 2019 he co-founded the spin-off company AllRead MLT with the support of the Mobile World Capital Foundation. In 2020 he left academia and started serving as CTO of AllRead MLT."
