Speaker Bio

Marc Gómez is an industrial engineer from the Polytechnics University of Catalonia and has an Executive MBA from EADA (School of Senior Management and Administration). He also holds a postgraduate Certificate at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland, on “Senior Management Development and Leadership”.

He joint ABB in 1995 as a service engineer in the automation area. Since 2001 he has held various leadership roles both in the Spain´s organization of Drives, Motors, Power Electronics and Robotics business units.

In 2010 he was appointed Local Division Manager for ABB's Robotics and Motion division in Spain, and in 2013 he was appointed Southern Europe Regional Manager of the same division, in addition to his role as Local Division Manager in Italy.

In 2015 he became responsible for the global solar business in the ABB Group, and since January 2018 he is the CEO, Country Managing Director of ABB in Spain. Since 2019 he is as well as President of ABB in Spain and ABB in Portugal.

Since November 2019, Marc Gómez combines these roles with his new responsibility as Local Business Area Manager for Motion in Spain, and he´s also a member of the Global Motion Services Division Management Team.

Additional to is role at ABB, since February 2021, Marc holds the position of President of Club de Excelencia en Sostenibilidad (Club of Excellence in Sustainability), and currently, he is also a member of the Board of Trusties of EADA Business School.

He´s also an experienced speaker in public forums and panel discussions on topics related to smart industry, digital transformation and sustainability.

Marc has always felt a strong passion about music and used to play guitar on a non-professional band, and he´s as well a passionate mentor and business coach collaborating with organizations such as Junior Achievement.
