Leila joined GSMA in April 2022 as the Insights and Advocacy Manager for Climate Tech. In this role, she conducts and disseminates research as well as advocates for climate tech solutions in low- and middle-income countries.
She has a government background and has for example worked for the Embassy of Sweden in Angola where she worked with trade and investment. Here, her main focus was on trade and investment, specifically engaging with the tech and telco markets where she established a strong relationship with the Angolan government and collaborated with international stakeholders such as UNDP. Prior to working in Angola she worked with policy analysis and evaluation for the Swedish Unemployment Insurance Board and has also consulted on initiatives working with for example gender and climate in impact investing.
Leila holds a Master’s degree in political science from Uppsala University and is based in London.
