Lawrence S. Chu is a Partner and Managing Director at Moelis & Company where he provides financial and strategic advice to large cap companies globally with special concentration on the communications, media and technology sectors. Mr. Chu has 25 years of experience in this role and has advised on over $600 billion of strategic transactions.
Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Mr. Chu was appointed Special Adviser to the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) by Chairman Wheeler. At the FCC, Mr. Chu helped lead the Broadcast Incentive Auction and redesign the Designated Entity bidding rules.
Before the FCC, Mr. Chu was a Partner and Managing Director at Greenhill & Co. focusing on the communications, media and technology sectors and prior to that, was a Managing Director at Evercore Partners.
Mr. Chu has been recognized as a Top 30 Comms M&A Dealmaker by TMT Finance.
Mr. Chu is President of the Board of Trustees as well as a member of the Nursery School Board of Directors and Governance Committee of The First Presbyterian Church in the City of New York. Mr. Chu is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Friends Academy in Locust Valley.
Mr. Chu lives in Laurel Hollow, NY with his wife, Emily, and their two daughters, Charlotte and Jacqueline.
