Juanita Silva

Speaker Bio

Juanita is a sociologist from Chile, who has participated in several social projects, focusing on migration, poverty and gender related issues. She combines her deep understanding of social and environmental issues with her passion of transforming systems to create a healthier, safer, more equitable world. She has worked as Chief of Staff to the United Nations Climate Champion and as manager for the Race to Resilience Campaign, focusing on increasing actions and investments into building the resilience of vulnerable people and communities. Previously, she led the youth engagement agenda for COP25 and the Chilean Ministry of Environment. She worked with different stakeholders in order to enhance youth participation at every level.

Juanita co-founded the Dar Hogar foundation in Chile, a project that builds houses for underprivileged families, and she is a board member in Tremendas, an NGO dedicated to empowering girls who work on different sustainability projects across Latinamerica.
