Jeanie is CTO of Virgin Media O2, the UK’s leading converged telecommunications challenger brand. She has 22 years’ experience in leading telco and cable business strategy, network planning, engineering, technology development and operations. At Virgin Media O2, Jeanie is responsible for managing the UK’s largest mobile network that covers 99% of the nation’s population with 4G, and more than 1600 towns and cities with 5G services, targeting 50% population coverage this year. Her role also encompasses a nationwide broadband service - a fixed network that currently passes 16.1 million premises with superfast gigabit speeds.

Jeanie previously held the role of Chief Technology and Information Officer for Virgin Media from January 2019 to May 2021. Prior to this, she spent almost six years at Liberty Global, joining as Vice President of Network Operations in 2013, where she was responsible for network operations across 10 European countries. She was appointed Managing Director in 2017, where her role included responsibility for network engineering and operations. Before joining Liberty Global, Jeanie held various senior management positions at Qwest and CenturyLink over a period of 15 years. Jeanie sits on the Board of Falcon Systems, The Princes Trust Technology Leadership Committee and is a member of the Women in Cable Telecommunications (UK chapter) and she is also involved with Child Advocates – Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). She is a passionate advocate for encouraging more women into STEM roles, and is using her position as CTO of one of Europe’s biggest technology companies to drive this forward, both within Virgin Media O2 and externally.
