Javier M. Buldú (Engineer and PhD in Applied Physics) is a full Professor at the Rey Juan Carlos University (Madrid, Spain), where he coordinates the Complex Systems Group. He has also been an academic visitor at the Center for Astrobiology (Madrid, Spain) and the University of Oxford (U.K.). JMB is a leading expert on the analysis of the dynamics of nonlinear systems and the understanding of how complex systems organize, adapt, and evolve, with applications to social, technological, and biological problems. During the last few years, he has focused on applying methodological tools from graph theory, nonlinear dynamics, statistical physics, and machine learning to Sports Analytics. At the same time, he has also collaborated with LaLiga and several Spanish football clubs, developing advanced key performance indicators. Altogether, he has published more than 120 peer-reviewed publications (WoK), including papers in high-impact journals such as Nature Physics, Nature Communications, Proceedings of the National Academy of Science USA, or Physical Review Letters.
