Hugo Swart serves as VP and GM of XR for Qualcomm Technologies, Inc where he oversees the Global XR business unit for the company and is responsible for XR growth, P&L, M&A, product management, go-to-market, strategy, product roadmap, partnerships, business development, including driving customer development for consumer XR products across virtual, augmented and mixed realities segments and the metaverse ecosystem.
Over the years at Qualcomm Hugo has created several commercial products and business lines from the R&D inception stage including leading many consumer product market segments from next generation drones to digital entertainment products. Swart is best known for spearheading the standalone VR category in the XR industry with Qualcomm’s first VR reference design in 2016 and building Qualcomm’s profitable XR business from the ground-up including bring to market some of the world’s first wearable AR consumer products.
Swart has a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Campinas, Brazil, and an MBA from SDSU.
