Mr Devusinh Chauhan is an electrical engineer by qualification. He served as an engineer in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting from 1989 to 2002. Subsequently, he left his job to join public life. He was elected as a Member of Legislative Assembly of Gujarat State from Matar constituency in year 2007 and re-elected in 2012. Due to his very impressive political work in Gujarat, he was elected as Member of Parliament from the Lok Sabha constituency of Kheda, Gujarat in 2014. His wide popularity and down to earth nature helped him getting re-elected from the same constituency in 2019. In July, 2021, he has been inducted as the Minister of State for Communications in the Central Government of India, headed by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.
He has been Member of various Parliamentary Standing Committees on various subject matters including Water Resources, Information and Technology, and Defence. He has also been part of Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
He has been working specifically in the areas of advance mobile technology like 5G and 6G, comprehensive telecom reforms for facilitation of ease of doing business, promoting indigenous designing, development and manufacturing of advance telecom products in the country and postal reforms for improvement of mail and parcel services in the urban and rural areas.
