Speaker Bio

Dr. Roman Friedrich is a Managing Director and Partner based in BCG's Düsseldorf office. He joined BCG in 2019 as a lateral hire and is a seasoned professional in the telecommunications industry with 28 years of industry experience. Roman is a member of BCG's TMT practice and has supported TMT companies across the globe with a focus on Germany, the Nordics, UK, Türkiye, and Eastern Europe. He is responsible for BCG’s Climate & Sustainability activities for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and South America within the TMT practice. Under this role, he has developed BCG's "Telco Sustainability Index" and has published several articles on the importance of sustainability for the telecommunications industry. In addition, he is co-leading BCG's global Telco Infrastructure initiative.

Roman Friedrich earned an PhD in theoretical particle physics from the University of Tübingen and a diploma in nuclear physics from the Technical University of Darmstadt He was a scholar of the German Merit Foundation. Today he is a frequent speaker at telco and digital conferences and publishes white papers on a regular basis.
