Speaker Bio

Dr. Apostolia Karabatea holds both a BSc and a MSc in Physics, but also a PhD in Applied Physics, all from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She is a certified IT Project Manager and also a certified Manager of Educational Units, from Panteion University in Athens. She worked at the Lab of Radiocommunication of Physics Department in AUTh, at “OTE” (Hellenic Organisation of Telecommunication) and T-Mobile (Los Angeles, San Fransisco), as a Designer and Task leader. On same time, she has been an external partner for the Medical School of AUTh on the field of Hygiene and primary care, but also for the WHO Europe on the training of medical staff regarding COVID-19. She is experienced on preparing proposals for national, European (Horizon) and international projects and also on managing research projects but also pre-commercial procurement projects (PCPs). Since 2021 she works for Gnomon Informatics SA as a Manager for National and European R&D projects mostly focused on the domain of e-health, interoperability and data management.
