Speaker Bio
Dr. David Bartrés-Faz is a Full Professor of Medical Psychology at the University of Barcelona. He received training in neuropsychology, brain imaging and non-invasive brain stimulation and performed postdoctoral stages at the INSERM (France) and at Harvard Medical School (USA). His research focus on modifiable factors and neural mechanisms that explain maintenance of brain and mental health in advanced age. PI of consecutive Spanish National grants since 2004 and PI of the University of Barcelona Center for European Programs FP7 and Horizon 2020. PI of the prospective study Barcelona Brain Health initiative (BBH), Honorary member of the Department of Clinical Educational and Health Psychology, University College London (2022-2027) and chair (2001-2003) of the ‘Reserve, Resilience and Protective Factors’ Professional Interest Area of the Alzheimer International Association (ISTAART). He sits on the Director’s board of the ‘Institute of Neuroscience’ at the University of Barcelona and has been awarded with a ‘Ramon y Cajal’ and an ‘ICREA Academia’ fellowships by the Spanish and Catalan Governments
