Before joining Red Hat in 2013, Darrell was VP and Head of Sun/Oracle’s Global OEM business. At Sun's Communications and Media Business, he drove global revenues over $4.6 billion annually with P&L responsibility for software and engineering development of Sun's Telco Platform Group that established Java ME, Carrier Grade Solaris, Netra SPARC as a leading platform(s) for application development. Darrell won chairman’s awards within AT&T Unix Systems Labs and Sun Microsystems for excellence in business development, as well as many awards for strong sales leadership in Novell, Lucent, Sun Microsystems, and Red Hat, through demonstrable success in delivering software, hardware, and services to multinational corporations.
Darrell holds a BSc in Computing Science from the University of Glasgow, and an MBA from Strathclyde University. Darrell has lived and worked in Asia, Europe, and the USA.
