Charlotte brings experience in venture capital and corporate venture philanthropy in emerging markets, following an early career in capital markets in Europe and Asia Pacific. Charlotte lives in the UK following many years in East Africa and Asia Pacific, where she grew up. Charlotte has been serving since 2018 as Managing Director at the Global Innovation Fund leading portfolio and investments in Africa and Asia.
Charlotte was a Senior Partner and Chief Operating Officer at AHL Venture Partners in Nairobi investing in high growth start-ups across sub-Saharan Africa in energy access, financial services and agriculture. Charlotte has been involved in the governance of SMEs through various Board roles and in advising pooled investment vehicles.
Charlotte developed and led public private partnerships for the Lundin Foundation to deliver access to finance, business development and technical assistance to SMEs in Kenya, Botswana, Ethiopia, Sweden and Norway. Charlotte was a program manager at GSMA Mobile for Development, launching GSMA’s first innovation fund, and a consultant in renewable energy and environmental finance for IFC and GIZ.
Charlotte is a member of the Global Credit Committee for the Lending for Education in Africa Partnership managed by Volta Capital, an advisor to Okavango Capital and advised GSMA Innovation Fund for Mobile Internet Adoption and Digital Inclusion Fund.
Charlotte holds a Masters in Applied Environmental Studies and a BSc (Hons) in Geographical Sciences.
