Speaker Bio

For over 9 years, Aya Tarek Helmy has been a noteworthy leader in the Sustainable Development space. She is the Co-founder and Managing Director of BENAA Foundation for Sustainable Development, an Egyptian NGO fostering social innovation for environmental sustainability, with a mission of Empowering rural communities through knowledge-based youth-led participatory projects in the MENA region.

She Graduated with honors from the American University in Cairo in 2013, and studied for a Masters of Sustainability Leadership at Arizona State University. She is also a member of the Global Network of Civil Society for Disaster Risk Reduction (GNDR), and a member of the Environment Committee at the Egyptian National Council for Women.
