Speaker Bio

Ariel (Ari) de Fauconberg is the Co-founder and Director of Research of the youth-led think tank, the Good Data Initiative (GDI). Her advocacy work focuses on both responsible data science and diversity, equity, & inclusion in leadership, leading to her being included on the #ThinkListNext 2021 list of the "next generation of thinkers" advancing understanding and moving the dial on issues of responsible business (University of Bath). As a PhD Candidate and Gates Cambridge Scholar at the University of Cambridge, Ari’s research similarly focuses on understanding the challenges that organizations face as agents of change while pursuing socially and environmentally sustainable innovation via digital technologies. Ari previously worked as a Research Fellow at Babson College conducting studies on clean energy entrepreneurship and female-led, high growth, high-potential firms, and has taught at the University of Oxford and Harvard Extension School as well as worked for the Smith School for Enterprise and the Environment and National Geographic. As a member of the WEF Expert Network, she co-authored a 2021 World Economic Forum white paper on SME resilience and sustainability, and was recently the 2022 winner of the Financial Times and McKinsey & Co. Bracken Bower Prize.
