Andrew Lloyd leads Ericsson’s Government and Policy Advocacy team engaging senior international government, policy, and institutional stakeholders and providing high level political/policy insight and advice to support Ericsson’s growth. Prior to Ericsson, he led Norwegian energy company Equinor’s global political and public affairs team from 2014 to 2021. He joined Equinor (known then as Statoil) in September 2012 as Vice President in the Global Strategy and Business Development unit.
Formerly, Mr Lloyd was British High Commissioner to Nigeria (2010 – 2012). Prior to Nigeria, he was the Foreign Office Director for Africa (2006-2008) - the senior foreign policy adviser on Africa to the British Foreign Secretary and No10, leading a network of 30-plus British Embassies, High Commissions and other diplomatic posts in Africa. He has held a number of senior diplomatic appointments with the British Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office.
He has a BSc in Financial Economics from the University of London, and an Executive MBA from London Business School & Columbia University, New York. He has attended the UK Royal College of Defence Studies (2003) and the UK Civil Service Top Management Programme (2006).
From 2006 to 2008, Andrew was a Governor of the London School of Oriental and African Studies.
