What is 5G and what are the key featuresassociated with the new generation of mobile communications? What does Competence Center 5G.NRW come from and what are its central missions? Which 5G activities are currenly taking place in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and what makes themso special? This talk marks the beginning of the series of events from CC5G at MWC and gives you an overview of the 5G state of the art in NRW.

1.30 pm - 2.30 pm - 'Giga for Health - enabling innovative solutions in medicine by the use of 5G'

Switching closer at singular examples for NRW's 5G innovation ecosystem, this event presents an insight into the unique project Giga for Health, which just started in May 2021. In the project, the University Hospital of Düsseldorf will be equipped by a 5G campus network, enabling innovative and life-saving solutions in medicine. But what might those solutions look like and how can 5G be used in the medical context? This will be presented by varoius speakers form the project team, featuring the University Hospital of Düsseldorf, Vodafone and Brainlab, who will present use cases from this context.
