Later this year the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow will add further emphasis on the need for a meaningful transformation of industry towards a more sustainable future. The mobile industry is taking practical steps and is one of the most advanced in terms of laying out its commitments towards net zero by 2050. But the greatest positive climate impact lies in mobile’s potential to enable other sectors of the economy to reduce their own emissions. Assessing the latest progress, this session will enable open dialogue on the remaining obstacles and positive actions needed to address the climate crisis.
- How can private and public sectors work together to leverage mobile technology for a green digital recovery?
- Can policies accelerate the transformation of industry into low-carbon or no-carbon emitters?
- What can be done to spur innovation and collaboration for a low-carbon economy?
This in-person only session will take place in the Ministerial Stage, located inside the GSMA Ministerial Programme. Please note that the GSMA Ministerial Programme is an invitation-only event. Find out more.
