Digital Inclusion: What Will It Take to Get Everyone Connected?

Mon, 28 Feb: 10:00 - 11:00 CET

GSMA Ministerial Programme - CC4, Hall Upper Walkway

Session Description

The global pace of digital transformation is increasing with 94% of the world’s population covered now by mobile broadband networks. While a big portion of society thrives as a result, using tech as a vehicle to get education, do business and benefit from the opportunities of the digital world, 3.5 billion people live in areas with access to mobile network, but remain disconnected. They are disproportionately women, rural, poorer, less educated. Barriers such as lack of awareness and skill, affordability, safety and relevance remain and this session will debate strategies required today to ensure everyone has the opportunity to connect.

*Please note, the GSMA Ministerial Programme is an invitation-only event. If you haven’t received an invitation to the Ministerial Programme you won’t be able to gain access on-site.
