Session Description
Please note that sessions at the GSMA Ministerial Programme are accessible to those delegates invited to attend the Programme only.
Connectivity is one of the key pillars of society development, powering the interconnection of platforms, systems, and applications that form the fabric of economies and communities. From energy to finance, from transport to health, more strategic sectors and critical infrastructures rely on digital technologies. With IoT, AI, and automation increasingly embedded across industries, cyberattacks may have perilous consequences for the basic functioning of society. Financial repercussions of data breaches will rise from $3 trillion each year to more than $5 trillion in 2024, according to Accenture’s study. Robust governance frameworks need to be developed, along with cooperation between government and private actors to ensure the resilience of systems, and cross-border operability of standards, supported by effective regulation.
