MNOs, automotive OEMS and cloud providers are approaching what is likely to be the biggest services opportunity since the smartphone. By 2025, SBD predicts that at least 400M connected vehicles will be on the road – each with the potential to deliver emerging services such as HD Mapping and Intelligent Driving, services that require immense amounts of data and a robust, comprehensive network to support that data.
The Automotive Edge Computing Consortium (AECC) is working to support these data-intensive services. AECC’s member companies include MNOs, automotive manufacturers and cloud solution providers that are collaborating to tackle the connected vehicle data challenge.
This session introduces the AECC’s work to help meet the growing data demands of our connected vehicle ecosystem and examines the opportunities for mobile network operators to lead and shape this evolving industry.
