Session Description

As people’s attitude towards car ownership continues to shift, Shared Mobility services such as carsharing and ridesharing continue to surge. This emergence of new business models around car ownership requires vehicle manufacturers and mobile operators to rethink their approach to in-vehicle connectivity access and associated services.

The GSMA is working with its members and the wider industry to establish an Automotive Identity framework that will enable users to bring their existing mobile subscription and services into the car with them, allowing them to seamlessly access data connectivity via their current mobile data plans across a number of cars.

This workshop will explore the progress and opportunity created by the Automotive Identity framework, which includes an improved user experience, compliance with important regulation, clear data traffic separation for robust connectivity, and the facilitation of new business models and services.
