5G Security: Connecting us to a Secure Future

Mon, 28 Feb: 14:45 - 15:30 CET

The MWC Broadcast Stage, Hall 4

Session Description

5G is connecting everyone and everything, at lightning speeds. This technology is supporting enhanced Mobile Broadband, Massive Machine-type Communications and Ultra-reliable and Low Latency Communications, 5G is opening up opportunities to innovate technology that will connect, thrive and become the backbone of our society. The security of 5G is, however, a major concern to governments and organisations with the increased number of available services and entry points broadening the threat landscape. The impact of any attacks on 5G networks could be serious or even catastrophic, but mostly theoretical until 5G is more widely used or until a significant breach has occurred. Let’s explore what can be done now to embed security into 5G and prevent, or at least reduce the opportunities for malicious attacks in the future?
